Save the future

After baby Falak's demise(a two year old baby girl battered by her caretaker and eventually died in hospital), who on our world would have expected that another innocence(baby Afreen - a 3 month old baby battered by her father) would undergo the same plight and that too in few weeks? Time has come for us to react, to take steps, to fight, for our beloved children, our future!

My humble request is that we all should work together for this and spread the word of forming a special section for child welfare in our country similar to the ones in US and European countries. Whether it is through word of mouth, social networking sites or contacting journalists.

Our government should make a child welfare section which,

- should include doctors, nurses and cops.
- should be set up in cities, towns and in villages.
- should do regular check ups and visits on every houses under their vicinity.
- should talk to children as well as to parents.
- enquire about their food, health, and availability of education

Nurses should check the bodies of children thoroughly for marks, bruises etc. Lady nurses should check girl children. If they are suspicious about anything, they should ask parents clearly, warn them, and later on keep close track on the family's behavior. Through neighbours and by contacting friends and colleagues of each parent, close monitoring can be done. By keeping in touch with children's school teachers, the section should get further details.

As a common man, if we see any danger to the children in our surroundings we should inform police as soon as possible. Here I am not talking about the regular small beatings or pinches by parents to their own children as a part of disciplinary process. I am talking about the punishments that are going beyond normal limits. Example, beating children as if they are animals, or biting, burning their skin with kitchen equipments, cigarettes etc.

Lets us do our best in stoping violence and that too towards helpless and innocent children!
